No — hearing aids don't cure hearing loss. They help your brain re-learn to process the sounds you've been missing.
Most patients experience significant benefit within the first three months, especially in one-on-one conversation. But the outcome depends on four things: realistic expectations, consistent wearing, attending follow-up appointments, and a proper fitting with real-ear measurement.
Wear the aids from morning to night, come to follow-ups, tell us where they're working and where they aren't, and the result is usually excellent. Wear them only when it's convenient and the brain never adapts.
